From November 29- December 4, 2022, Miami will be completely consumed by art as it hosts international art fairs and galleries worldwide. If you’re an art lover or just looking for something fun during your stay in Miami, we’ve prepared a guide to get you the most out of Art Basel Miami Beach and surrounding events.

Where Miami Art Week Is Happening
Contemporary art will be everywhere you look during Miami Art Week. The main attraction is the iconic Art Basel Miami Beach exhibition at the Miami Beach Convention Center, which will have works from over 200 exhibitors from 38 countries, with over half of them being galleries from the Americas. The pulse of Art Basel Miami Beach is only one part of the magical art week, though.
Art Miami is an annual event that will showcase different pieces from 160 galleries all over the world. This year, it’ll be held in Downtown Miami and some of the art forms you can expect to see include paintings, drawings, sculpture, NFTs, video art, photography, and prints.
Context Art Miami, its sister event, will showcase pieces from burgeoning contemporary artists and galleries based in over 20 nations, including but not limited to Japan, Turkey, Australia, France, South Korea, and Chile.
Aqua Art Miami is a boutique contemporary art fair representing 41 international galleries and showcasing young, emerging, and mid-career artists. This art fair is held at the Aqua Hotel in South Beach and is known for its laid-back, relaxed vibe.
Other notable events include the fairs Scope Miami Beach, UNTITLED Art Miami, Miami River Art Fair, and Design Miami. Each of these will be held at different venues throughout the week, so check their websites for more information. What to Expect During Miami Art Week 2022
With art museums and galleries open late to accommodate Miami Art Week events, you can expect a festive atmosphere with art lovers and aficionados alike. The city will be filled with performances, installations, parties, talks, and panel discussions.

Traffic and Parking at Miami Art Week 2022
We know parking and traffic can be a hassle, especially during Miami Art Week.
So, plan and make sure you leave enough time to get from one event to the next. We recommend traveling during off-peak hours to avoid any delays.
If you plan on driving, parking is notoriously difficult in the city. Be sure to factor in parking costs and always make sure your car is parked legally – as you don’t want any nasty surprises when you return!
The free Metromover goes around Downtown Miami and is an ideal way to get around and explore. Taking an Uber or Lyft is something you can do too. However, be prepared to pay a little more during peak hours.
Where to Stay During Miami Art Week 2022
The Miami Design District and Wynwood are the best areas to stay during Miami Art Week. Both have plenty of restaurants, bars, art galleries, and museums.
In the Design District, check out the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for contemporary works by established and emerging artists from around the world. The Wynwood Walls is also a must-visit – it features colorful murals by renowned street artists.
For convenience, you may want to stay in South Beach or Downtown Miami. You’ll have access to most Art Basel events and other activities during Miami Art Week.
W South Beach is a luxurious, short walk to the beach and the Miami Beach Convention Center. The Miami Beach EDITION is another excellent hotel option – its rooftop pool offers stunning views of South Beach.
