What is being built here
MICL and Admire Capital announced The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Fort Lauderdale Beach in February 2026: a dual-tower waterfront development of 83 residences across 13 storeys, on a site held between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.
The homes are two- and three-bedroom plans with dens, running roughly 1,550 to 3,480 square feet, plus six penthouses with ceiling heights up to 11 feet. Architecture is by Garcia Stromberg with interiors by Dan Fink Studio. Sales opened in March 2026 through Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, from $2.5 million.
What sits between the towers
Rather than stacking amenities inside one podium, the plan puts them in the gap: landscaped gardens form a central promenade carrying a lap pool, a leisure pool, private cabanas and an outdoor bar pavilion, with a limited number of Intracoastal dock slips.
The site has a history worth knowing
551 Bayshore Drive is not a new address in the record. It is the site previously marketed as EDITION Residences Fort Lauderdale by Location Ventures, which broke ground in February 2023. Location Ventures collapsed into an SEC receivership later that year, and its founder settled with the agency over allegations he misappropriated $93 million from investors.
The site was relaunched under the Ritz-Carlton flag in 2026 under new ownership. Buyers researching this address will find both project names in circulation; only one of them is live.
