What was announced
Art Basel published its exhibitor list and first programme details for the 2026 Miami Beach edition on 29 September 2026. The fair takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from 4 to 6 December, with VIP preview days on 2 and 3 December. The Art Basel Awards, presented with BOSS, reveal their Gold Awardees on the evening of Thursday 3 December, per the same announcement.
The line-up is 272 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and territories. Across the four sectors, 254 galleries show work; Zero 10, Art Basel’s section for digital art, adds 22 galleries and platforms, four of which also show in the main sector.
A smaller, reorganised floor
Art Basel says the fair will occupy approximately 12% less floor space in 2026, and the main Galleries sector will have approximately 10% fewer exhibitors: 204 this year. The Art Newspaper reported on 29 September 2026 that the figure was 226 in 2025.
The layout changes too. The fair is organised around four hospitality plazas instead of five, which Art Basel says creates longer sightlines across the hall. Blue-chip galleries that were previously grouped in one area are distributed across the floor. The Art Newspaper noted that the change could ease crowding in the sections that housed the largest galleries.
Bridget Finn, director of Art Basel Miami Beach, said in the announcement: “This is about sharpening the show’s impact and creating the strongest conditions for our galleries to thrive.”
The sectors
- Galleries: 204 exhibitors, including 28 Kabinett presentations inside exhibitors’ booths.
- Nova: 20 galleries showing new work by up to three artists.
- Positions: 12 solo projects by emerging artists.
- Survey: 16 historically focused presentations by 18 galleries.
- Zero 10: Generation, 19 projects by artists including Jon Rafman, Refik Anadol and Sarah Meyohas, curated by Karen Archey with Eli Scheinman.

Latin America and South Florida
Art Basel’s announcement says more than two-thirds of the galleries operate spaces in the Americas, with galleries from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Cuba and The Bahamas. Brazil is again the third-largest national contingent. The Bahamas is represented for the first time, through TERN Gallery of Nassau.
South Florida galleries returning include Fredric Snitzer Gallery, David Castillo, Gavlak and Nina Johnson, and Spinello Projects moves up to the main sector, per the same announcement.
Free to the public, outside the fair
Two projects sit outside the Convention Center and are free, according to Art Basel. The Turrell Art Foundation and Art Basel, supported by Pace Gallery, will unveil a new outdoor body of work by James Turrell; details are to follow. In Collins Park, Public Art Fund will present Between Tides, six artist-designed sculptural ping-pong tables, and Amalia Pica’s solo exhibition Lecturas Posibles opens at The Bass at the same time.

Art Week puts the Convention Center district in the middle of South Beach for a week: Collins Park, The Bass and Lincoln Road are all a short walk away.
