South Pointe Park
South Pointe park is a beautiful park located at the southernmost tip of Miami Beach. The park features 17 acres of green space with walking paths, grassy knolls and stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean, downtown Miami’s skyline and Fisher Island. The park has walking trails, bike paths, off-leash dog park, benches, a cafe and picnic and barbecue areas.
With direct access to the beach, South Pointe Park is a perfect place to spend an afternoon relaxing and watch the mega yachts and cruise ships head out to sea. At the end of the day, enjoy a drink and people watch at the outdoor bar at Smith & Wollensky steakhouse.
South Pointe Park is great for the entire family and the park has a jungle gym, mini water playground for the kids complete with a motion-activated mini splash zone and water cannons, perfect for cooling off on a warm day. Located at the tip of South Pointe Park you will find South Pointe Pier, a 450-foot pier where visitors and locals like to fish. The pier has viewing stations, turtle-safe lighting, recycling bins for fishing lines, and places to cut bait and wash freshly caught fish.
The beach at South Pointe Park has umbrella and beach chair rentals are available and is a popular spot for locals to surf, play volleyball and paddle board. There are Restrooms and outdoor showers located near the kids’ splash pad. There is also a cafe that serves juice, hot coffee, chips, ice cream, granola bars and other refreshments. South Pointe underwent a $4.8 million renovation in 2014 and is free to visit and open daily from sunrise to sunset.
