Neighborhood Location

By Day:

Situated along Biscayne Bay, Coconut Grove is a southern neighborhood of Miami offering easy access to beaches and waterways. Spend an afternoon at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens or head just a few blocks in any direction to experience a nearby town. You’re right next to Coral Gables and downtown Miami. Once a year, the entire city gets together to celebrate the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival. There are also yearly wine festivals and carnivals celebrating Bahamian and Caribbean cultures.

By Night:

Coconut Grove does not disappoint when it comes to a buzzing downtown scene. Between Fat Tuesday and Sandbar Sports Grill, there’s a nice collection of casual, affordable bars. But say you want to get dressed up and spend a little more. There are places to do that, too. Try Cigars at Sunset or Happy Wine in the Grove. If you’re looking for the club scene though, you’ll have to trek north to Miami or South Beach.

Where To Live:

Coconut Grove is a neat place to call home given its historic significance. It is the oldest, continuously inhabited neighborhood in Miami, meaning it packs a cultural punch with roots dating back to the early 1900s. Now that glitzier parts of town have surpassed Coconut Grove, the area is returning to its hometown feel. You can still live in a ritzy high rise on Bayshore Drive, but there are similarly priced apartments and homes that have a different feel.

You May Also Like:

Coconut Grove is equal parts artsy, outdoorsy and luxurious. For that you may also dig North Miami for outdoor amenities, the Arts District for creative enterprise or Coral Gables for its modern luxury.
